Tuesday nights 7pm the Gate drops and racing starts!

HOW TO RACE:

⦁    Utilize our social media pages for up to date info including phone number, weather

⦁    Text (587-433-6680) registration by 6 pm (no late registration) -you will need riders name, their age (calculated by the age they will turn by Dec 31), their class (novice, intermediate, expert), their gender,  their plate number (may need to include license number if first time racing at track)    (ie - John Doe, 11 expert male, Plate 256)

⦁    Sign up for a volunteer position (descriptions will be posted at track and online)

⦁    When announced, check the rider list -  this will be posted on our.sqorz.com (scroll down to Canada - West and then choose Airdrie BMX). You need to make sure your rider has the correct name, age, class, gender and plate number – any discrepancy, go to the registration window asap

⦁    Next step will be an announcement that motos are posted on our.sqorz.com – a moto is the name for the number of the race that your rider will be in – every race night, each rider participates in at least 3 motos (races) and their placing is the average of the 3 motos

⦁    The gate has 8 positions – a full gate will hold 8 kids – if there are more than 8 kids in the category, there will be an extra moto (4th race) called a main after all the other motos are run with the top 8 riders -  don’t forget to note this or your rider may miss out on their final!

⦁    On the moto sheets that are posted, you will see 3 sets of two numbers for each rider – the first is the moto and the second is their position at the gate (ie- 36:1, 57:4, 82:5) - your rider will be racing in motos/races 36, 57, 82 in lanes 1, 4, 5 up at the gate respectively

⦁    Bring a roll of tape and a marker – put tape on bike with their motos:gates to be visible to your rider

⦁    Now go to staging area and wait to listen for their moto and name.  Make sure to head back to staging after a quick drink for their next moto

⦁    Each moto assigns a point value as to what place your rider finishes in (1st place = 1 point, 2nd place = 2 points, 3rd place = 3 points etc).  A rider’s final total is the number of points they have accumulated over all 3 motos.  If riders have the same amount of points after 3 motos, the order they have finished on their 3rd moto will be the deciding factor.

⦁    After racing, don’t forget to get your (1st, 2nd, 3rd place) sticker at the motoshed!
